Dear Friends this year we have two Covenant Masses in Lent – maybe like a ‘blue moon’. We could take the lenten resolution to attend both this year. You are welcome to join us tomorrow night, Sunday 18th February at 7.30pm. Our University Students are preparing the Mass and St Edmund’s group will play for Mass. In his Lenten Message this year Pope Francis reminds us of a Word from St Matthew: “Because of the increase of iniquity, the love of many will grow cold” (Mt 24:12). He goes on to explain “In his description of hell, Dante Alighieri pictures the devil seated on a throne of ice, in frozen and loveless isolation. We might well ask ourselves how it happens that charity can turn cold within us. What are the signs that indicate that our love is beginning to cool?” Perhaps our Lenten Journey as missionary apostles of the Covenant of Love can be to bring warmth into the lives of those feeling cold and to ask the Holy Spirit to reach out to those whose heart is in danger of freezing over. Please come along and bring family and friends with you. We will also collect donations for our clothes and food bank
Today we are invited to ‘Rejoice in the Lord always…’ The Third Sunday in Advent sounds the bell of devoted joy – undivided in heart we turn to God in the great expectation of the gift of the Child Jesus in the stable at Bethlehem andon our Advent journey we await in hope the fullness of time. In the octave before Christmas we celebrate Covenant Mass tomorrow, Monday 18th December 2017 and we would like to invite you to Mass at the Shrine at 7.30pm followed by our Advent Christmas celebration. You are welcome to bring a donation for our food and clothes bank. We look forward to seeing you at this Mass prepared by the Mount Carmel group and led by the St Edmund’s music group.

Welcome to our Covenant Mass this Saturday, 18th November 2017 at 7.30pm at the Shrine followed by refreshments. The Group preparing the Covenant Mass is the Emmaus Group, Celebrant: Fr.Reginald and the music group from St Edmund’s will accompany us. During this year we have thought about what Pope Francis has said to us about the joy of love in the family.Theme: Living our faith in the Family: For “man cannot live without love. He remains a being that is incomprehensible for himself, his life is senseless, if love is not revealed to him”.(Redemptor Hominis §10 in AL§161). We also pray for all our deceased members and for all the faithful departed in the month of November. We remember particularly Arthur Hamilton from the St Michael’s group, keeping Edith and the family in our prayers. You are invited to bring a donation for our food and cloths bank. This time of year we look for warm socks, gloves and wooly hats. Look forward to welcoming you on Saturday.
You are invited to our Covenant Mass in October, tomorrow, Wednesday 18th October at 7.30pm at the Shrine. Our Mount Carmel Group are preparing this Mass with remembers the beginnings of Schoenstatt on 18th October 1914 and follows the renewal of the Walsingham Crowning of our Lady as Schoenstatt Queen of England and as Queen of the Family. Our homes become little shrines, in the Second Vatican Council they spoke of domestic church; each home a place of grace and school of sanctity in everyday life. Theme of the Covenant Mass is taken from Pope Francis’ letter on the joy of love in the family and refers to the depth of our relationship which can become a strong network of personal support and for you to give support in solidarity and mutual care to others. We cannot simply log-in or block at will like we can do in social media. We look forward to seeing you there. Please bring a donation for our food and clothes bank.
You are invited to the October Day on Sunday 1st October at the Shrine. You can arrive any time after 12.00 noon and bring a packed lunch with you. Holy Mass will be at 1.30pm followed by our afternoon programme which includes a programme for children. Bishop Arnold, Bishop of Salford, is expected by about 4.30pm and we will celebrate crowning our Lady in the Shrine with him. For more details click here. We look forward to seeing you on the day

Welcome to our Covenant Mass on Monday 18th September 2017 at 7.30pm at the Shrine. This celebration will be our final before we crown Our Lady on October 1st this year. We see each one of us as a jewel in the crown of our Lady – ‘you are precious in my eyes’. We crown Mary our Queen so that she will care for us and we can unite ourselves with her in pursuing her share in the interests of her Son, namely building God’s Kingdom and welcoming all to find their way to the heart of the Father. We want to become missionary disciples of the covenant of love, reaching out to many so that each may find their way home to the Father. Mary is invited to be queen of our homes and our families.
In 1968 Father Kentenich, the founder of Schoenstatt died in the sacristy just after saying Mass in the church of the Blessed Trinity in Schoenstatt. During this coming year we want to look at how Father Kentenich wanted us to be apostles for our time, instruments in Mary’s hands, wining the world for Christ. Our women’s group are preparing the Mass. We look forward to seeing you.
