Family Week August 2013

Dear Friends
This is a reminder  for all those interested on going to the Family week planned forJuly / August 2013. . At the moment we have a possibility in England and an alternative in Schoenstatt/Germany and we would like to canvas your opinion and ask your commitment to one of these options:
  1. In England: Castlerigg Youth Centre in Keswick. We would be opting for the simple life!
Dates: They have dates from 3rd/4th Aug – 10th/11th Aug 2013 available.
For five nights full board it works out about £265 per adult.
(This gives us some leeway to subsidise families with young children.)
The accommodation is Youth Centre style more suitable for young families. It is dormitory style although last time we could accommodate families and couples in the separate rooms. There is no en suite accommodation available. We know the location is beautiful and there are lots of things for families to do. Trips out are not included in this approximate price.
  1. The second possibility is to go to Marienau in Schoenstatt again in 2013. Many of us of course know the house well and we had a wonderful week there this year 2012.
Dates: Saturday 27th July – Friday 2nd August 2013
Approximate costs for full board and all transfers and trips for a five night stay without flights
Double en suite Room cost per couple £ 665.00 (without flights)
Single en suite room cost per person £375.00 (without flights)
Response so far has been limited. Some of the young couples want to go to Castlerigg, Some do not want to go to Marienau three times in a row.  would be grateful if you could let me and Gary:  <garyrussell9@aol.com>  know within the next two days  if you would be interested to commit to any of the two alternatives. Thanks

God Bless

Family Week August 2013

Dear Friends

This mail is for all those interested on going to the Family week planned forJuly / August 2013. Gary Russell has been searching to find a suitable venue and it has not been easy. Some very nice places are not available on the dates we were looking for. Others are very expensive (for example one place would cost in the region of £550 per adult with full board for six nights). At the moment we have a possibility in England and an alternative in Schoenstatt/Germany and we would like to canvas your opinion and ask your commitment to one of these options: Continue reading “Family Week August 2013”

Family Week in Schoenstatt

Our Family Week in Schoenstatt Germany starts this Saturday 4th August. So we will be running a Marathon parallel to the London Olympics. As St Paul says we should run to win a crown of glory that will not fade. We gather at the Well in Marienau and will meditate on the encounter of Jesus with the Woman from Samaria at Jacob’s Well. This is a reminder to bring a pot along with you to place in our Family Week Home Shrine. If you do not have one then you will be able to buy one in Schoenstatt. Look forward to seeing you all. Have a good Journey and God Bless

FamilyWeek Holiday & Pilgrimage 2012

Invite to the Family Week 2012FamilyWeek Holiday & Pilgrimage in Haus Marienau, Schoenstatt Germany from 4th August -11th August 2012 – inclusive. This year we will visit Schoenstatt 100 years after Fr. Kentenich became the Spiritual Director of the students in the Junior Seminary in Schoenstatt. He was to find himself with a job for life – he was called to be a prophetic educator for many, leading them in the Covenant of Love to the Heart of Mary and her beloved Son, Jesus. Later on he was to say that the appointment in the Seminary 1912 was not just a job for a young priest but the discovery of his life’s vocation. The modern world demands a new approach for young people to find God in their life. Fr. Kentenich wanted to help people find their way and put their trust in God and in response to His Love for them they would bear witness to Christ in the unspoken example of their lives, in the words of encouragement and challenge they say to others searching for God  and in the unstinting service to others, helping to build God’s Kingdom.(To download the Poster click here.)
