Fr. Duncan as been living and working in the Diocese of Salford since 1987. His priestly Ordination was on 7th December 1985 at Christ the King, Kingspark in the Archdiocese of Glasgow. He was assistant Priest in St Stephen’s Droylsden where Fr. Bulfin was Parish Priest. Until 1987 Fr. Duncan was a member of the House Community in Essen, Germany and completed further Studies in the University of Tübingen (STL). He also had responsibility for the Schoenstatt Youth Branch in the Diocese of Essen.
He lived in Chamber Road, Oldham since 1987 and worked within the Schoenstatt Movement with Youth branches and with the Family Branch. He assisted Fr. James Rawson in Corpus Christi, Oldham during this time. In 1994 Bishop Kelly offered the Schoenstatt Fathers the care of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Blackley and Fr. Duncan was appointed Parish Priest and was joined by Deacon Andrew Pastore and Fr. Klaus Desch. Fr. Duncan was Rector of the newly established House Community.
In January 2003 Fr. Duncan began a year’s Sabbatical and period of further Studies at Loyola University, Chicago. He was appointed to the Province Council in October 2003 and given special responsibility for the preparation of the Youth Festival in Schoenstatt in association with the WYD in Cologne 2005. 2007 Fr Duncan was appointed Administrator of St. John Fisher’s, Kearsley and Director of the Schoenstatt Movement in England and Wales. He works in close association with Episcopal Vicar for Vocations developing Family Pastoral in the Diocese.
With Fr. Bryan he has coordinated Marriage Preparation in the diocese and held the first Holy Family Project – a training programme for married couples to work in the field of Family Pastoral and the development of Family Spirit both in Salford and in Motherwell Diocese.
