“Christ is alive! He is our hope, and in a wonderful way he brings youth to our world. The very first words, then, that I would like to say to every young Christian are these: Christ is alive and he wants you to be alive!”
During the 22th Sunday mass Fr. Bryan Cunningham blessed five puppies. He reminded us that pets are deserving of blessing too and we should love and take care of the nature.
Father Bryan emphasized during sunday’s homily the importance of respect for all created things.
Saint Francis of Assisi wrote a Canticle of the Creatures, an ode to God’s living things. “All praise to you, Oh Lord, for all these brother and sister creatures.”
PRAYER FOR THE ANIMALS:
“Blessed are you, Lord God, maker of all living creatures. You called forth fish in the sea, birds in the air and animals on the land. You inspired Saint Francis to call all of them his brothers and sisters. We ask you to bless this pet. By the power of your love, enable it to live according to your plan. May we always praise you for all your beauty in creation. Blessed are you, Lord our God, in all your creatures! Amen.”
