The Evening Mass commemorating the Last Supper has, as its theme, service and sacrifice – which are aspects of the same mystery. We see Jesus as one who serves, who gives himself. Just as he gives himself in washing the feet of his disciples, so he gives himself in the bread and wine he takes, blesses and hands to them. And in the same way he will give himself on the cross tomorrow. All these acts of self-giving are the same act – that of the Son of Man who came ‘not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.’

This coming June – 1st (7.30pm GMT), 8th (8pm GMT) and 15th(7.30pm GMT) Fr. Duncan will be introducing us to the theme of the Garden of Mary in this Year of the Father 2011. Here is what you can expect…
This year’s Kentenich Talks in June 2011 are about the “Garden of Mary” Vision – how it came about in Schoenstatt and its meaning for our spiritual lives today. The Garden of Mary is a symbol for a means of evangelisation, where the relationship to God and to each other becomes the platform for faith. It has a horizontal and vertical dimension. The horizontal dimension is reflected in the symbolism of a garden that is full of every kind of tree, and flower, pathway and river. However, this great diversity does not diminish the unity of the Garden. The significance for living our faith today is that the Church is made up of very different and unique people, each bringing their own originality and talents, but together make up the one Body of Christ. In the Month of April the Taste and See Mass falls on Sunday 10th of April and starts with Mass at 3.30pm. We would like to invite Families to this mas and we have a shared table afterwards. All are welcome.
A change of heart is a wonderful grace which allows us a new start, heals relationship wounds and gives us the chance to life in God’s presence. The founder of Schoenstatt, Fr. Kentenich tells us that the Shrine brings three pilgrim graces one of which is spiritual transformation – a true change of heart. Preparing now for Easter we hear God’s promise to his people by the prophet Ezekiel: “I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.”
