Covenant Mass Monday 18th September 2017

by Fr. Bryan Cunningham on 14/09/2017

Welcome to our Covenant Mass on Monday 18th September 2017 at 7.30pm at the Shrine. This celebration will be our final before we crown Our Lady on October 1st this year. We see each one of us as a jewel in the crown of our Lady – ‘you are precious in my eyes’. We crown Mary our Queen so that she will care for us and we can unite ourselves with her in pursuing her share in the interests of her Son, namely building God’s Kingdom and welcoming all to find their way to the heart of the Father. We want to become missionary disciples of the covenant of love, reaching out to many so that each may find their way home to the Father. Mary is invited to be queen of our homes and our families.

In 1968 Father Kentenich, the founder of Schoenstatt died  in the sacristy just after saying Mass in the church of the Blessed Trinity in Schoenstatt. During this coming year we want to look at how Father Kentenich wanted us to be apostles for our time, instruments in Mary’s hands, wining the world for Christ. Our women’s group are preparing the Mass. We look forward to seeing you.

Taste and See Family Mass in June

by Fr. Bryan Cunningham on 06/06/2017

Welcome to our family Mass, Taste and See at the Shrine at 3.30pm on Sunday 11th June, Trinity Sunday.  Since we last got together the terrible events in Manchester Arena and in London have happened. The wonderful response highlighted with the Areana Concert in Old Trafford show the spirit and determination of our people. We remember with sadness the loss and pray in hope. It makes us feel all the more what is important to us , our family and the security to live our family life in joy, peace and love. After Mass we will have a ‘potluck meal’; what we share is what is on the menu. You are invited to bring a donation for our food and clothing bank for the homeless and the needy. See you at the Shrine

for London

by Fr. Bryan Cunningham on 04/06/2017

It is with great sorrow and consternation that we have to offer prayers on this Pentecost morning for those who have lost their lives on London Bridge and Borough Market at the hands of three crude evil men. Our hearts go out to the families of those who have lost, so violently, their loved ones. Our hearts ache for those people injured and maimed and for all their families. Thank you to the Police, Emergency Services, the Hospitals of London and all those who offered shelter and assistance to those Londoners and visitors of this great City threatened with senseless evil violence.

Pentecost is about new strength and hope. It is a fire of love that purifies us from all wish to use or abuse of others.  It is the light of truth and the beginning of reconciliation, the foundation of a World of Truth, Justice and Love.

For those who hold their dead and suffering children in their arms we can only offer the loving silence of solidarity and a prayer of condolence. At this point I would like to shout from the rooftops:  ”Maybe it’s because I am a Londoner”. I am from Coatbridge living in Greater Manchester. But today I am a Londoner.  And all the “Bees” of Manchester understand and are with you. God give us peace.
